Murder suspect may have spent time in Idaho

Police in Manchester, New Hampshire have identified Terrance Peder Rasmussen as their prime suspect in a decades-old murder mystery. The bodies of an unidentified woman and three unidentified little girls were found in steel barrels in Allenstown, New Hampshire in 1985 and 2000.

With the help of DNA evidence, the New Hampshire Attorney General’s Office has now tied Rasmussen to those bodies. Rasmussen died in prison in 2010. The case has some ties to Idaho. According to law enforcement, Rasmussen stole a vehicle from a friend in Preston during the 1980’s. He was pulled over in that vehicle on November 11, 1988, in San Luis Obispo, California. Police also believe Rasmussen may have worked on a farm in Idaho. Rasmussen has operated under multiple aliases, including the name Robert “Bob” Evans. Police are attempting to determine his real name and see if they can identify the murder victims.
Anyone with information should contact the New Hampshire State Police Cold Case Unit at 603-223-3856.
