New study confirms snowmobiling is big Idaho economic business

According to a recent study completed by Boise State University and the Idaho Department of Parks and Recreation, spending on snowmobiling related products and services contributed $197.5 million to Idaho’s economy from July 2015 to June 2016.

The top three counties for spending are Valley County with $37.8 million, Fremont County with $29.1 million and Ada County spending $24 million.

The study included a comprehensive survey of resident and non-resident snowmobilers and their participation in both day trips and overnight trips. It took into consideration factors such as purchase of snowmobiles and equipment, maintenance and repair expenses, and travel costs such as fuel, food and lodging.
