A senior project disaster drill brings awareness to drunk driving
A disaster drill took place at Bonneville High School today and all for a senior project.
In the wind, rain and hail, Bailey Annis’ senior project went on as planned after school. It was a disaster drill to bring awareness to drunk driving.
“I thought it was a good way to raise awareness for drunk driving. And it was also a good way to show the different parts that EMT and the fire rescue play in a car accident,” Annis said.
Her senior paper was on the different roles emergency personnel play in a car accident and the importance of each person on scene.
“I was excited when Bailey came to talk with me about this project that she’s put together for her senior project. I think its great, and it’s a great reminder to our students that accidents can happen to our students. They need to be careful and make sure that they drive safe and sober,” said Daniel Sperry, the school resource officer.
Starting the project last year, she talked with the different agencies within Idaho Falls and picked her fellow students as actors.
“I was a little worried at first, but it makes me really happy and I’m really excited for it to be done. I think that it turned out better than I thought it would have,” Annis said.
