Weather update for October 13th

A quick moving storm system moved into our area on Friday with periods of snow in the Central Mountains. After 8 p.m. on Friday there is a greater chance for more widespread snowfall. Snowfall of up to 4 inches in the mountains is possible. From Friday night to Saturday morning the lower valley could see a dusting of up to 3 inches of snow.The Southern half of the Snake River Plain is more likely to see snowfall. The storm system should move out of Idaho on Saturday morning between 6 a.m. and 12 p.m. As the storm moves out, expect windy conditions and clearing skies.

On Sunday through next Friday, a ridge of high pressure will build across the Great Basin. We should see sunshine for the start of the work week and warming temperatures.

Saturday: Mostly cloudy, with a 20% chance of snow/rain showers in the morning. Highs in the upper 40’s and low 50’s. Clearing skies in the afternoon.

Sunday: Sunny, with highs the 50’s.

Monday: Sunny, with highs in the mid 50’s.
