Tips for staying safe this Halloween

Halloween brings in safety concerns for kids trick-or-treating.

Make sure they have adult supervision, especially for young kids. Also, wear something on your costume that is easily seen in the dark. Carry a flashlight or glow sticks so you can see. Pay attention to your child’s candy as well, they should not eat any unwrapped candy.

The sheriff’s department also warns about walking around busy neighborhoods.

“Just paying attention to where they’re going and making sure that we don’t get anybody hurt in traffic,” Sgt. Bryan Lovell of the Bonneville County Sheriff’s Department said. “Or in these neighborhoods where you have cars coming and going and people crossing the street or going in and out of the street. That’s probably the biggest thing that I would encourage parents and kids and trick-or-treaters to watch out for.”

The department also says to bundle up as the temperature drops tomorrow night.
