Update: One killed in officer involved shooting in Pocatello
UPDATE 12/26/17: POCATELLO, Idaho (AP) – A man fatally shot by a sheriff’s deputy in Pocatello has been identified as 62-year-old Lawrence McClellon. The Bannock County Sheriff’s Office says McClellon was armed with a gun during his encounter with law enforcement officers late Friday. An autopsy is planned for Tuesday.
UPDATE 12/23/17 9:00 p.m.: The Bingham County Sheriff’s Office confirms a Bannock County Sheriff’s deputy was involved in the officer-involved shooting. A 62-year-old male inside the home was shot and pronounced dead at the scene.
Police are still notifying family so the man’s name has not yet been released. Police are also not releasing the name of the deputy.
An autopsy is scheduled for Dec. 26.
The Bingham County Sheriff’s Office and Blackfoot police detectives are investigating the shooting. They are still investigating the crime scene and interviewing witnesses so no further details about what happened are being released yet.
UPDATE 12/23/17: The Bingham County Sheriff’s Office is leading the investigation of an officer-involved shooting incident in Pocatello Friday night.
At 7:40 p.m., Pocatello Police were called to 1540 Homer Drive in Pocatello. Police called for additional support to deal with a man inside the residence with a gun.
Bannock County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded. At some time during the incident, a Bannock County deputy discharged their duty weapon.
One person was killed in the incident. That person was not immediately identified.
Members of the East Idaho Shooting Team are now investigating the incident.
UPDATE: 12/22/17 10:35 p.m. The Bannock County Sheriff’s Office says the suspect in the police standoff on Homer Driver was shot and killed by a Pocatello Police officer. The identity of the suspect has not been released at this time.

The Bannock County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a standoff and shooting in Pocatello.
The sheriff’s office says Pocatello Police were involved in a standoff Friday night with a man reported to have multiple weapons inside a home on the 1500 block of Homer Drive.
During the standoff, shots were fired, but no other information about the situation including if anyone was injured and killed has been released.
Our reporter at the standoff could hear several gunshots shortly after 8:30 p.m.
Homer Driver is currently closed to everyone except those who live on the street, the closure could last into the morning hours.
Our reporter says Pocatello Police, Idaho State Police, Bannock County Sheriff’s Deputies, Pocatello Fire and Paramedics were all seen responding to the standoff.
