Man commits suicide in Bannock County Jail

An inmate at the Bannock County Jail committed suicide late Friday night.

Brandon Grammer, 29, of Montana, was found dead in his cell by a guard around 11 p.m. The Bannock County Sheriff’s Office said he hanged himself.

He did have a cellmate, but the Sheriff’s Office said that the inmate was not in there at the time.

Pocatello Fire Department paramedics performed CPR but were unsuccessful in reviving him.

Grammer’s death will be investigated by outside law enforcement agencies and the Bannock County Coroner’s Office

Grammer was in jail on multiple warrants out of Montana, as well as felony eluding charges from Pocatello back in February. His court date was set for Monday.
