CEI commencement set Thursday

The College of Eastern Idaho will award 485 degrees during its 2019 commencement ceremonies Thursday.

Of them, there are 18 Associate of Arts or Science degrees, 244 Associate of Applied Science degrees or certificates, and 223 General Education Development (GED) degrees.

Skyline High School student Lindsay Gardels will be the first dual credit graduate. She will graduate from both Skyline High School, and, at the same time, graduate with a general education associate degree from CEI.

The College has named Brent Stacey as its commencement speaker. Stacey is recently retired as an Associate Director for National and Homeland Security at the Idaho National Laboratory. He currently leads a nonprofit organization advancing Idaho’s science, research, education, health care and state government through high-speed, cost-effective bandwidth.

Commencement exercises are scheduled for 7 p.m. Thursday at the Idaho Falls Civic Center for Performing Arts.
