Jackson Town Attorney submits resignation
Audrey Cohen-Davis has submitted her resignation as Town Attorney for Jackson.
Mayor Pete Muldoon and the Town Council accepted the resignation with thanks for her service to the community.
“It has been an honor working under 3 different Mayors and numerous Town Councils over the past 13 years. It has also been an honor to work with Town staff and the public,” said Cohen-Davis. “It is time to pursue other endeavors and to take some time to focus on my family.”
She has served as Town Attorney since August 2006 under Mayors Mark Barron, Sarah Flitner, and Pete Muldoon.
“I want to thank Audrey for her many years of dedicated service to the Town of Jackson and all of the work she’s put into the organization and all she has done over the years,” said Muldoon. “It has meant a lot to the Town of Jackson.”
Town Manager Larry Pardee said the council may take some time before filling her position. He said the Mayor and Council may review its structure for legal services. He expects the town and council to name an acting Town Attorney under a contract for services in the near future.
The position of Town Attorney reports directly to the Mayor and Council for the Town of Jackson and serves under an employment contract along with the Town Manager and Municipal Judge. The legal team at the Town of Jackson includes an Assistant Town Attorney that provides prosecuting services for Municipal Court along with other staff level legal services for the Town and a Lead Legal Secretary.
