Athlete of the week: Makayla Mauger, Highland softball
Pocatello, Idaho- The Sermon Service and Electric Athlete of the Week for Tuesday May 14 is Makayla Mauger of Highland softball.
Mauger went 5-11 form the plate, knocking in six RBI for the Rams during the 5A District 5/6 tournament. Five of those RBI came in the championship game against Rigby.
She was the winning pitcher for all three wins with two of them being complete game efforts. Mauger allowed just five earned runs in the three games and struck out 16 batters.
The Rams are in the 5A state tournament as distrcit champs and will face Coeur d’Alene in the tournament opener at 9 am in Post Falls.
