Woman in bicycle accident dies from injuries
UPDATE 6/7/19 10:50 a.m. Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center sadly reports 69-year-old Peggy Jensen Knox has passed away after being involved in a crash on May 30.
Knox, of Idaho Falls, passed away June 5, 2019.
Peggy was born December 13, 1949, in Rexburg, Idaho, to Lowell Harold Jensen and Arda Simmons Jensen. She grew up and attended schools in Idaho Falls and graduated from Bonneville High School. She also attended Brigham Young University where she earned her Bachelors Degree in Interior Design.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, June 14, 2019, at the St. Leon Ward Building, 6925 N. 15th E, due to the Coltman Ward being unavailable. The family will visit with friends Friday from 10-10:45 am prior to services. Burial will be in the Ucon Cemetery.
The Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office says the investigation is continuing.

UPDATE 6/4/19 9:55 a.m. The Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office has released the names of those involved in the crash on May 30.
The victim, 69-year-old Peggy Knox of Bonneville County, is still at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center being treated for her injuries.
The driver of the pickup involved is 40-year-old Marcos Ruiz-Gutierez, also of Bonneville County.
No further information is available, and this crash is still under investigation.

A 69-year-old woman, injured in a bicycle/vehicle accident last Thursday remains in Intensive Care and in stable condition at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center, according to the Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office. The names of all those involved in the incident have not been officially released.

The people involved in yesterday’s bicycle accident have not yet been publicly identified. The Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office reports the victim was listed in stable condition Friday.

UPDATE: 5/19/19 8:15 a.m.
A 69-year-old woman was hospitalized with critical injuries. Neither she, nor the driver, have yet been publicly identified.
According to Sheriff’s Department officials, the woman was riding her bike eastbound on 113th North. The adult male driver of the pickup attempted to go around the bicycle. He told deputies that the rider began drifting toward the center of the road, which caused the pickup to cross into the opposite side of the road.
The victim was not wearing a bicycle helmet.
The road was closed for about 90 minutes.

ORIGINAL STORY:
An adult female bicycle rider was hospitalized after being struck by a vehicle at 113 North in Bonneville County shortly after 3:30 p.m. Thursday.
Bonneville County Sheriff’s deputies said it appeared a pickup hauling a trailer was driving around the bicycle. They said the bike was somehow caught between the truck and horse trailer.
The bicyclist was dragged for a time before coming to rest in the middle of the road.
The accident remains under investigation and no other information is yet available.
