Wyoming men face over 2 dozen counts of animal cruelty
Authorities say two men will be charged with more than two dozen counts of animal cruelty after malnourished and partially buried dead animals were found on their northeast Wyoming property.
Campbell County Sheriff Scott Matheny tells the Gillette News Record the two suspects are a 54-year-old man and his 29-year-old son.
Matheny says officers were called Wednesday after people noticed that the animals had not been fed or watered for five days.
Lt. Kevin Theis says officers found dead livestock buried on the property south of Gillette with parts of them sticking out of the ground.
Matheny says 28 animals, including 20 horses, were taken into protective custody.
