Chukars continue perfect season behind Emodi’s slam
Michael Emodi’s first-inning grand slam helped the Idaho Falls Chukars (5-0) offense continue their hot start to the 2019 season and win 6-4 over the Missoula Osprey (2-3). Clay Dungan doubled to left field scoring Montae Bradshaw. Dungan would come around to score on a single from Jose Marquez.
Alec Marsh took the hill Tuesday night making his professional debut, pitching two perfect innings, and striking out the side in the second. Marsh is earliest drafted player from the 2019 draft on the Chukars roster.
Brady Cox, who was a catcher for the Chukars last year made his debut on the mound and pitched a scoreless 7th and 8th inning for the Chukars getting the hold. Jaret Hellinger allowed a run in the 9th to the Osprey on one hit and one walk, but still managed to get the save.
Denson Hull (0-1) takes the loss for the Osprey, giving up 6 runs, 5 earned in one and a third of an inning, striking out one.
The Chukars will try for the sweep Wednesday night, first pitch is scheduled for 7:15 p.m.
