Mountain America Center final preview to media before opening

IDAHO FALLS, Idaho (KIFI) – The new Mountain America event center officially opens in 63 days on November 28.

They held a news conference Monday at 11:00 a.m. sharing construction updates, community partnerships and when the public can expect concerts and big events.

School Districts 91 and 93 are now scheduled to hold graduation events inside the center.

Some events to expect in the coming months at the center will be the East Idaho Fly Tying Expo, Iron Horse RV Shows and Outdoor Expos, local and regional gatherings and athletics like the Spud Kings, Figure Skating Club and Idaho Falls Hockey Club.

They also announced they will be hosting the Idaho Amateur Hockey Championships in February 2023.

The first chance for the public to see inside the Mountain America Center will be at their grand opening on November 28 at 11:00 a.m.

They did not allow media to view or tour the interior.

More announcements for performances and entertainment are still to come.
