Rescuers forced to suspend search at site of India landslide

NEW DELHI (AP) — Falling rocks have forced rescuers to suspend their search for victims of a large landslide that swept across a highway in the mountains of northern India, killing at least 14 people. With darkness falling, the search for 25 to 30 people believed still missing is unlikely to resume until Friday. Rescuers recovered 10 bodies on Wednesday and four on Thursday. More than 100 rescuers were working to clear the rubble using four earth removers. Officials say 14 people were rescued. Heavy rains also lashed another northern state, Uttar Pradesh, where more than 1,200 villages are submerged and residents have moved to relief camps.
