4 killed and 6 hurt in California highway head-on crash
RIO VISTA, Calif. (AP) — California officials say four people have been killed and six were injured in a head-on crash between a sedan and an SUV carrying a Mexican family of seven on vacation in California. The crash on a two-lane highway notorious for collisions happened Wednesday night in the small city of Rio Vista, south of Sacramento. Police Chief John Mazer says the dead include a passenger of the SUV and the three occupants of the sedan. He says the six injured people were hospitalized in stable condition. Authorities found numerous opened conainters of alcoholic beverages near the sedan and were investigating if drunk driving was a crash factor.
