Hot and sunny for Independence Day with thunderstorms returning Sunday afternoon

We’re seeing a few thunderstorms for Friday afternoon and evening on the tail end of low pressure moving to the northeast. For Friday night, look for clearing skies and low temperatures in the upper 40’s throughout the Snake River Plain. Winds will be out of the southwest around 10 to 15 mph becoming light and variable after midnight.

For Saturday, look for sunshine and hot afternoon temperatures. Highs will reach the upper 80’s and lower 90’s throughout the Plain. Winds will be light around 10 mph, for the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 15 mph.

Partly cloudy skies are expected for Sunday, with a chance of afternoon thunderstorms. High temperatures in the Snake River Plain will reach the lower 90’s.

Partly cloudy and hot for Monday and Tuesday, with high temperatures near 90°. There will be isolated and scattered thunderstorms for the afternoon and evening hours.
