NATIONAL SUMMARY
Steamy air over the Northeast will help to fuel
thunderstorms from Missouri to New York state tomorrow as
humidity and heat dominate the eastern third of the nation.
Thunderstorms from southeastern Missouri to central New York
can bring flash flooding and damaging winds to the region as
heat reigns in the eastern mid-Atlantic and southern New
England. Meanwhile, storms will also impact the Four Corners
region, also bringing flash flooding and damaging winds to
parts of Arizona. Extreme heat is expected in the Northwest
as a scorching heat wave continues. In contrast, pleasant
and slightly cooler conditions are forecast across the North
Central states. Fred is expected to move off the coast of
Cuba and approach Florida.
