Chukars sweep Orem
IDAHO FALLS, Idaho — The Idaho Falls Chukars made it three in a row Wednesday night as the ball club beat Orem 7-1 to sweep the Owlz.
Idaho Falls is now 3-0 on the season for the first time since 2009.
Andrew Ferguson pitched four innings, giving up one earned run on five hits and two walks. Ferguson struck out four. Sam Selman picked up the victory, pitching 2.2 innings and strikeing out three.
The victory Wednesday was the first time this season the Chukars didn’t score double-digit runs. All but two Chukars earned a hit. Second baseman Carlos Garcia went 2-4 with two RBI while center fielder Ethan Chapman went 2-4 with an RBI.
Idaho Falls continued to display their speed with three stolen bases. Chapman took his first steal of the season while Adalberto Mondesi and Garcia each added their second swipes of the year.
The Chukars return to Melaleuca Field Thursday night as they host the new Grand Junction Rockies.
