Rexburg man gets prison for sexual abuse
An 82-year-old Rexburg man is facing the prospect of spending the next 20 years in prison.
Ronald Bird was sentenced Friday to seven years fixed and 13 years indeterminate.
Bird was convicted in February for sexual abuse of a child under 16 stemming from a 2009 incident that involved a 4-year-old girl.
The girl was Bird’s neighbor, who would often come to his house and play. Bird has said he feels like he’s the victim in the case.
