Police looking for person of interest in Chubbuck stabbing

Chubbuck police and Fort Hall police are looking for Jacob Schmidt of Fort Hall, who is a person of interest in a local stabbing.

Chubbuck officers tell Local News 8 it happened at 6 a.m. at the Pine Ridge apartment complex in Chubbuck.

Fort Hall police said Schmidt led officers on a pursuit and abandoned his vehicle in the Ross Fork district.

Officers are on foot tracking Schmidt at this time.

A spokesperson for the Shoshone tribe said after Glenda Dixey was stabbed she drove to her sister’s home in Fort Hall, where she called the police. The victim was taken to Portneuf Medical Center in Pocatello.
