Two brothers charged in killing of former Idaho Falls man

Two Northern Arapaho Tribal brothers have been indicted with one count of first-degree murder and aiding and abetting for the death of a former Idaho Falls man.

U.S. Attorney for Wyoming Christopher Crofts said Alan Brown, 61, and his brother Vernon Lee Brown, 54, were charged in U.S. District Court in Cheyenne, Wyo., on Wednesday in the death of 47-year-old Tad Paul Barnson. Barnson was living in Riverton, Wyo., at the time of his death on or about May 6, 2006.

Barnson’s body was discovered on the Wind River Indian Reservation earlier this month.

Alan and Vernon Lee Brown face the possibility of life imprisonment or the death penalty, and could be ordered to pay restitution, a fine or special assessment.
