Power restored for Lava Hot Springs
Rocky Mountain Power restored electricity to about 743 customers in the Lava Hot Springs area Monday.
Company spokesman Dave Eskelsen said there is unknown damage to a transmission line in the mountains around Lava. Snowcats were used to patrol the lines.
A substation circuit was tripped again at around 1 p.m. Monday.
In the meantime, engineers are working were working on some switching strategies and got power restored to the Lava area around 5 p.m. Monday.
Power was out for Lava customers since Saturday.
About 4,000 customers in Bannock and Caribou counties were affected by the weekend outages.
