You can help Idaho Falls shelter

A Rexburg group is taking in gifts for the Haven in Idaho Falls.

The program is called Gifts of Grace.

Green gift donation boxes are located throughout Rexburg. The group will be accepting gifts up to Wednesday.

Founder Tyler Schaub said he got the idea for Gifts of Grace from an act of kindness he saw.

“There’s this one little girl and she was dressed in a pillow case, kinda like Dobby from Harry Potter,” he said. “She didn’t have anything to play with and she was crying. So we took her to a store, so I think we bought her a cookie and a juice. This woman behind the counter, this cashier, she saw the need in this little girl. She saw how she was dressed and the way she was feeling. And she went down behind the counter and brought out a Barbie doll and gave it to her. And just the joy in this little girl’s eyes at this gift of grace, from this woman that she can never repay, was just awesome. “
