Your Health Idaho deadline extended

The deadline for getting health insurance through Your Health Idaho starting in 2015 has been extended.

If you want to be insured by Jan. 1, you now have until 11:59 p.m. Dec. 20 to do so. This five-day extension from the state-run insurance exchange comes so “all Idahoans who want health insurance have the opportunity to enroll in a plan,” Executive Director Pat Kelly said in a news release Friday.

“Extending the deadline until Dec. 20 gives Idahoans extra time to receive their tax eligibility and find a plan that is right for them and their families,” said Kelly.

If you want to apply for a tax credit to lower your health insurance costs, you must finish your tax credit application by Dec. 15.

For coverage to be effective, you will need to have paid your insurance carrier by Dec. 31.
