Port-a-Potty tree gives drivers something to smile about

You’ve heard of the 12-days of Christmas, but 12 portable toilets are getting into the holiday spirit, greeting Pocatello drivers.

This is the second year the folks at Roto Rooter decided to get a little bit more creative with their Christmas tree display, stacking 12 portable toilets on top of one another to create a festive Christmas tree.

Store manager Steve Johnson said he wanted to find a creative way to tell folks in Pocatello ‘Merry Christmas’ while giving them something to smile about.

“I wanted to do something different, and ever since I thought of this idea, I just couldn’t stop laughing, so I went ahead and did it,” Johnson said.

He said the previous year’s display received such a positive response from the community, he couldn’t pass-up the opportunity to stack them up once again.

“I had people come up to me on Thanksgiving and say, ‘Where is your port-a-potty display this year?’ They were actually disappointed it wasn’t up yet,” he chuckled.

He said he hopes to make this an annual tradition since this year’s display has already drawn wide attention from the local community.

“We see drivers pull over and start taking pictures all the time,” he added.

The display is sitting on the corner of Kraft Rd.
