Police arrest man dressed as Batman

A local Caped Crusader was arrested in Pocatello over the weekend.

It was a “dark night” for 24-year old Michael Andrew Christenson, who was dressed as Batman late Saturday night when he was found wandering around a residential area with another man dressed as none other than Superman.

Pocatello police said they received a call from concerned residents when these two were trying to enter a home. The dynamic duo said they were just looking for a party they were supposed to attend.

Pocatello Police Department’s Lt. Paul Manning said Christenson was arrested because he already had a previous warrant out for his arrest.

Police said Christenson also gave a false name (not Batman or Bruce Wayne) and stuck to it until he was identified by a photo.

“Everything would have been fine if he didn’t have a warrant,” Manning said. “No matter how innocent or fun the incident appears to be, we still have to take care of the warrant.”

Manning said the warrant was initially issued by the Bannock County Sheriff’s Office.
