Chicago bank robbery suspect arrested near Nampa
A suspect in at least four Chicago area bank robberies was arrested by Idaho State Police.
Kenneth A. Hunter, 20, of Olympia Fields, Illinois, was arrested at about 11:30 P.M. Monday. He is suspected of the armed robbery of at least four banks between Nov. 19 and Dec. 17 in the Chicago area.
FBI press releases dubbed the suspect as “the Mug Shot Bandit”. He got the name by unwittingly providing law enforcement with very clear surveillance photographs.
An Idaho State Police trooper pulled over a black 2001 Ford Taurus with Illinois license plates on eastbound Interstate 84 near Nampa for speeding. According to ISP, the trooper discovered Hunter was wanted on an outstanding warrant in connection with the armed robberies in the south and southwest suburban areas of Chicago.
Hunter was arrested and booked into the Canyon County Jail. He was also cited for speeding and careless driving.
