Idaho Falls man tazed and arrested after resisting arrest

Idaho Falls Police arrested 22-year-old Terrence M. Walsh for multiple crimes after he unlawfully entered a residence in 500 block of Highland Thursday afternoon.

Walsh of Idaho Falls was booked into the Bonneville County Jail for felony battery on an officer, obstructing and delaying an officer, resisting arrest, possession of drug paraphernalia, unlawful entry, providing false information to police and five warrants.

According to reports, officers responded to a residence around 1:50 p.m. after they received information of Walsh trespassing or making unlawful entry. During their investigation, officers contacted Walsh, who was evasive, at the residence.

As officers were placing Walsh under arrest for unlawful entry, he began resisting arrest, including kicking and hitting a police officer. An officer deployed his taser, but it was ineffective. Additional officers responded to assist and after a struggle were able to detain Walsh.

Due to the taser deployment, Walsh was taken to the hospital for a medical clearance prior to being booked into the jail. An officer was also treated for his injuries.

Walsh’s warrants included criminal charges for grand theft, unlawful possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and felony probation violation.
