Melaleuca CEO speaks to university students

It’s the world’s largest online wellness shopping center: Melaleuca. Melaleuca’s CEO, Frank Vandersloot, spoke to ISU business students Tuesday about the keys to having a happy and successful life.

Vandersloot said his philosophy is that business is the process of helping people live happy lives. So he gave the students four keys to being happy. One was good health. Another was having the love and support of family and friends. Third was having great resources, meaning the ability to go and do and explore. Last, was living within the boundaries of what each person believes to be right and wrong.

Vandersloot said he enjoys events where he gets to talk to the younger generation, and he hopes he inspired them about their future.

“Anytime there’s an opportunity to speak to kids, kids that are right in those crossroads deciding what they’re going to do with their life, I think it’s a great opportunity,” said Vandersloot. “I wouldn’t miss it, I wouldn’t miss it for the world.”

Vandersloot spoke as part of ISU’s Wells Fargo Speakers’ Series. Well Fargo also presented the university with a check for $20,000 at the event.
