Family cats saved in Pocatello house fire
A Pocatello family escaped injury after an unattended candle caused a fire in a basement room.
Firefighters were called to a home at 2139 Diane Lane just after 1 p.m. Tuesday. All family members were out of the home, except for the family’s cats.
Firefighters extinguished the fire and all of the cats were safe.
Fire Chief David Gates estimated damages at $58,000. The home experienced general smoke damage. The room it started in sustained fire and heat damage.
