253 new COVID-19 cases in the area
SOUTHEAST IDAHO (KIFI/KIDK) - Local health officials reported 253 new COVID-19 cases in the area Thursday.
Southeastern Idaho Public Health has 102 new confirmed and probable cases of COVID-19 in Southeast Idaho.
Starting Thursday, SIPH will be reporting the probable case counts for each county along with confirmed cases.
As a reminder, probable cases are individuals that have had contact to a confirmed case and are experiencing symptoms but have not been tested or it is asymptomatic individual that has tested positive with an antigen test.

This brings the total of confirmed and probable cases to 4,181.
Out of the 4,181 cases, 3,329 have recovered from COVID19.

SIPH COVID-19 risk level monitor has four categories: minimal, moderate, high and critical. Oneida County is in the minimal risk category. Bannock, Bear Lake, Bingham and Caribou Counties are in the moderate risk category. Butte, Franklin and Power Counties are in the high risk category.
SIPH covers Bannock, Bear Lake, Bingham, Butte, Caribou, Franklin, Oneida and Power counties.
Eastern Idaho Public Health reported 151 new cases Thursday. There are 74 new cases in Bonneville, 2 in Custer, 4 in Fremont, 11 in Jefferson, 5 in Lemhi, 52 in Madison and 3 in Teton. There are a total of 695 active cases. You can view more HERE.
EIPH COVID-19 risk level monitor has four categories: minimal, moderate, high and critical. Maidson is in the high risk category. Bonneville, Custer, Fremont, Jefferson, Lemhi and Teton Counties are in the Moderate Risk Category.
Clark County is the only county in the Minimal Risk Category.

To help prevent the spread of this virus, it is more important than ever that the public follows the following prevention methods.
• Follow Governor Little’s Statewide Stay-Healthy Idaho Order at
rebound.idaho.gov.
• Wear cloth face coverings in public places.
• Practice social distancing (6ft).
• Stay home if you are sick.
• Avoid people who are sick.
• Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. If soap and water are not available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol.
• Cover your nose and mouth with a tissue or your sleeve when you cough or sneeze.
• Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.
• Cleaning and disinfecting surfaces and objects that may be contaminated with germs using a disinfecting solution.
