Temporary changes to Leadore Ranger District office hours

SALMON, Idaho (KIFI) - The Leadore Ranger District Office is currently short staffed. As a result of the staff shortage, the Salmon-Challis National Forest is going to implement temporary changes to the office hours in Leadore, which started on Nov. 1, 2023. 

Now through Nov. 30, office hours will be Monday through Thursday, 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The office will be closed on Fridays during this time. 

Starting on Dec. 1 through Dec. 20, office hours will be Monday through Wednesday, 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The office will be closed on Thursday and Friday during this time. 

Starting on Dec. 21 through Jan. 31 the office will be closed to the general public. Appointments are available if the public needs to meet with a member of our Leadore staff. Call 208-756-7029 Monday – Thursday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. to make an appointment. Updated offices hours will be shared with the public mid-January. 

The Salmon-Challis National Forest has local vendors who offer services such as wood permits and Christmas tree tags. The vendors are the Stage Stop Store in Leadore and the Tendoy Store in Tendoy.  These vendors are open six days week with variable hours of operation.
