JACKSON, Miss. (AP) — Federal, state and local authorities are stressing unity in Jackson, Mississippi, where the 150,000 residents continue to face a crisis with the water system. On Friday, officials outlined numerous challenges and occasional setbacks as they worked to restore running water to homes and businesses. And they stressed that once water pressure is fully restored, it remains uncertain when the water will be drinkable. A boil-water order has been in place for more than a month — even before this week’s crisis that saw water pressure drop after heavy rains and flooding. The Biden administration’s infrastructure chief and top emergency administrator visited Jackson Friday.
