US 191/189 Hoback Canyon closure canceled

JACKSON, Wyo. (KIFI) - UPDATE 12/21/22: The Wyoming Department of Transportation has canceled the scheduled closure of US 191/189 for Wednesday, Dec. 21 for avalanche mitigation.

The highway will remain open to all traffic unless winter conditions force a change in status.

ORIGINAL: The Wyoming Department of Transportation has scheduled a closure of US 191/189 for Wednesday Dec. 21, 2022 at 9:00 a.m. for avalanche mitigation.

Reduced visibility, winter driving conditions and increasing avalanche hazard may force an earlier closure.
