Chukars blow out Vibes 17-9 to take series opener in Colorado Springs
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado (KIFI) - Thanks to 13 runs scored in the first five innings, the Idaho Falls Chukars stayed hot with a dominating win against the Rocky Mountain Vibes Tuesday night.
The Chuks racked up 17 runs on 20 hits in in the series opener against a Vibes team averaging 13.0 runs against per game coming into the six-game set.
Among multiple great individual performances, Sam Troyer had himself a monster game. Troyer went 5-for-6 and finished a home run shy of the cycle while scoring three runs and driving in two.
Next up, the Chukars battle the Vibes in game two of the six-game series Wednesday night at 6:30 p.m.
