FAIRFIELD, Ohio (WLWT) — A former Fairfield City Schools employee received a special honor this weekend.

After her retirement, Sharon Revel worked with the district’s Athletic Department as its scorekeeper.

She was recently diagnosed with breast cancer, so the boys’ varsity basketball team wanted to show their support.

The team stopped by Revel’s house on their way to their tournament game on Saturday, bringing some spirit her way.

The team also made warm-up shirts with her initials on them.

“These guys, that’s time out of their day and they’ve got a game on the mind, they have a job to do tonight, but to take the time to think about me and my family, it’s just really, I mean it’s overwhelming,” Revel said.

Revel’s family and friends also presented her with ‘Get Well Soon’ cards as she continues her recovery.
