Sermon Service & Electric Student-Athlete of the Week – Caesar Chavez Jr. – April 9, 2026

This week, our Sermon-Service & Electric Student-Athlete of the Week segment brought me to Blackfoot. There, one young athlete has big dreams – becoming a professional soccer player. Now, he’s drawing overseas interest. Caesar Chavez Jr. is a Freshman on the Blackfoot High School soccer team. But his journey didn’t start here. It was 8 years ago when Caesar first jumped into the competitive side of the sport.

Sermon Service and Electric Athlete of the Week: Taylor Taylor

IDAHO FALLS, Idaho (KIFI) — For most high school athletes, balancing one sport with school is more than enough. For Skyline senior Taylor Taylor, that balance includes three. From Friday night lights in the fall, to the basketball court in the winter, and now the baseball diamond in the spring, Taylor’s final year of high school has been a constant rotation of competition. And he wouldn’t have it any other way.

Sermon Service & Electric Student-Athlete of the Week – Rooke Hawker – Mar. 12, 2026

Heavy wind gusts and brisk temperatures don’t exactly scream “baseball season”, but in Idaho, that is what is what the start of the season feels like. Kicking off their campaign in chilly fashion this week, the Idaho Falls Tigers took both games of a double header against the Wood River Wolverines on Wednesday, March 11th. On that Idaho Falls squad is where we find our Sermon Service & Electric Student-Athlete of the Week Rooke Hawker, who has his own opinions on the weather.

Sermon Service & Electric Student-Athlete of the Week – Madison State Champion Wrestlers – Mar. 5, 2026

In this week’s Sermon Service & Electric Student-Athlete of the Week segment, I went to Madison High School to speak with some state champion wrestlers. Brand’n Edstrom (120), Ace Ingram (144), McGregor Miller (215), and Sidi Kante (285) all won the state championship in their weight class, making this the first time in program history that the Bobcats have had four state champs in one year.

Serman Service and Electric Student Athlete of the Week: Kimball Tonks

SUGAR CITY, Idaho (KIFI) — In the competitive world of Idaho high school football, few programs have dominated like Sugar Salem at the 4A level. Over the past seven years, the Diggers have built a dynasty under head coach Tyler Richards, one of only two coaches in state history to win six state championships in a seven-year span. Unlike college football, where players can linger for extra seasons, high school athletes get just four years. That means every season demands fresh stars to keep the momentum alive.
