5 dogs die in RV fire before Florida dog show, official say
TAMPA, Fla. (AP) — Officials say five dogs have been killed in an RV fire the day before a dog show was set to begin in Florida. Hillsborough County Fire Rescue says the fire was first reported Tuesday at the state fairgrounds in Tampa. The American Kennel Club All-Breed Dog Show was scheduled to begin Wednesday and run through the weekend. Officials say bystanders reported seeing smoke coming from the RV and weren’t able to get inside. After firefighters extinguished the blaze, the RV owners told investigators that five boxers were in the vehicle. Officials say no humans were injured. Investigators believe the fire was an accident, but they’re still narrowing down a specific cause.
