BEDFORD, New Hampshire (WMUR) — A Merrimack man completed a 360-mile walk from Maine to New Hampshire in an effort to raise money for a local recovery center.

Brendon Daley started his 360-mile journey from Bangor to Bedford three and a half weeks ago. On Sunday morning, Daley crossed the finish line at One Church in Bedford, all while surrounded by friends and family.

“God was just guiding me through and I finally made it today and I could not be happier,” Daley said.

Daley managed to complete the 300-mile trek, all while walking on a fractured right foot.

“I put my mind over the pain and kept pushing because I had the goal and God was with me the whole time,” Daley said.

By the end of the walk, Daley said he had raised $3,000 for Harmony Home Ministry, an organization based in Manchester that specializes in providing help for people who are homeless, addicts or have been abused.

“I’ve been in bad situations before earlier in my life and know what it’s like to need help and to be able to give back. It makes me feel at home doing that,” Daley said.

After witnessing Daley cross the finish line, the organization’s founder, Henry Demers, said Daley’s journey was moving for him and the entire Harmony Home community.

“He’s a crazy inspiration. I’ve been following minute by minute and he’s inspired me so much,” Demers said.

Daley said he plans to write a book about his 300-mile journey someday.
