Big changes for the weekend forecast

Red flag warnings are up for the central mountains and upper Snake Plain.

Low flows and winds with less of a chance of storms for Friday. Cooler around 90 and some upper 80's. This does clear the way for some hazy conditions and winds will be still from the SW 10-25+mph.

Wake up with 8 Monday for a special announcement from 6-7am. And this weekend, when you have the chance - rescan your TV to pick up on our new signal for over the air viewers. We have a new transmitter and antenna to better serve the region--and it's free for those who use an HD TV antenna.

Saturday's afternoon forecast has us hiding from some of those thunderstorms again with gusty winds, beginning mid-afternoon for the Pocatello and Blackfoot areas. Temperatures will drop slightly from the upper 80's to the mid-to-lower 80's with these blustery conditions. So download our KIFI weather app to make sure you are safe at the lake or pool and outdoors.

With this brief retreat from the heat, and some showers to water your garden, it's back to the slow re-heat of the summer and close to 100 by next Friday. Watch the video forecast for the FutureTrack update and be here LIVE at noon and into tonight for updates on the arrival of the storms for tomorrow.
