ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) — Democrats in New York have flipped two key U.S. House seats. The wins Tuesday rolled back some recent Republican gains in the state. The districts include the Hudson River Valley and Syracuse. Democrat Josh Riley beat Rep. Marc Molinaro, and Democratic state Sen. John Mannion unseated Republican Rep. Brandon Williams. New York was expected to play an outsized role in helping determine future control of Congress. Republicans aimed to keep suburban seats they won two years ago by seizing on fears of crime, and Democrats tried to claw them back by warning that a right-wing Congress might ban abortion.
