Chilly temperatures and rain to persist rest of weekend

IDAHO FALLS, Idaho (KIFI)- Wet weather will continue for much of east Idaho Saturday night with rain chances lingering into Sunday. Chilly temperatures will hold through the weekend with a return to warm and sunny weather early next week.

A low pressure system will continue rotating through Wyoming bringing wraparound moisture into eastern Idaho through late tonight and early into Sunday. The chance of precipitation is 90 percent. The overnight low will be around 44 with a slight wind at 5 to 8 mph.

The rain chances on Sunday will come mainly before 8am sitting at 30 percent. It will be cloudy in the morning, then a gradual clearing as the high reaches near 65. A breeze will also pick up in the afternoon at 8 to 13 mph, gusts as high as 22 mph. Skies will be mostly clear Sunday night with the low near 39.

More sunshine will show up to start the work week. Monday will be mostly sunny with the high around 68. Calm conditions will prevail with wind speeds in the single digits. The low will sit around 41 with partly cloudy skies.

A warming trend will take over the rest of the week withe highs back in the 70s and 80s by midweek.
