One-lane closure affects Main Street in Rexburg today

REXBURG, Idaho (KIFI) — Drivers in Rexburg may encounter a temporary one-lane closure on a portion of Main Street today after a contractor experienced equipment issues overnight.

The Idaho Transportation Department say the affected area will be repaved tonight and is expected to be smoother than ever in time for the Fourth of July parade.

All traffic control devices will be removed from Main Street from Friday through Monday to minimize impacts during the holiday weekend.

ITD thanked the public for their patience and said crews are working to ensure construction does not interfere with Fourth of July celebrations.
