IDAHO FALLS, Idaho (KIFI)—College of Eastern Idaho's inaugural Board Chair Park Price has resigned, ending nearly a decade of service to the institution he helped establish in 2017, according to a news release.

Price served as a founding trustee and the board's first chair, helping guide the college through its early years and subsequent growth.

"Park's leadership, commitment, and belief in the power of education have shaped College of Eastern Idaho into the institution it is today," CEI President Dr. Lori Barber said in a statement. "He will be missed."

Price said the timing felt right to step aside, citing the completion of CEI's Future Tech facility and confidence in the college's leadership and future direction.

"Serving as a trustee and Chair of the Board has been one of the great honors of my public life," Price said.

Trustee Cal Ozaki praised Price's vision and leadership, saying his contributions helped establish the foundation and culture of the institution.

The Board of Trustees will appoint an interim trustee to fill the vacant Zone 3 seat until the trustee elected in November takes office.

Applications for the interim appointment will be accepted through 5 p.m. Aug. 28. Interested applicants must reside in Trustee Zone 3 and submit a letter of interest and resume to trustee.liaison@cei.edu.
