Madison Rolls Past Riverton at ICCU Dome

POCATELLO, Idaho (KIFI) — Madison kept its strong start to the season going Thursday night, taking down Riverton in the second game of the night at the ICCU Dome.

The Bobcats entered the matchup coming off a dominant 52-0 shutout win a week ago and quickly carried that momentum into Thursday’s game.

Madison led 6-0 in the first quarter when quarterback Micah Daughtery tossed the ball outside to Tyce Hodges. Hodges did the rest, racing 53 yards down the sideline for a touchdown to extend the Bobcats’ lead to 13-0.

The Madison defense delivered a big play of its own later in the half. Facing fourth-and-three, Riverton was stopped short after Bowen Smith came up with a key tackle to force a turnover on downs.

In the second quarter, Daughtery connected on a deep pass that helped move Madison into the red zone.

The Bobcats capitalized just before halftime. With time running down, Daughtery rolled to his left and found Cadyn Shaw, who made a tough catch for a touchdown to send Madison into the locker room with a 20-0 lead.

Madison went on to secure the victory 27-0, and continue its winning and shutout ways to start the season.
