Motorcyclist killed in Bear Lake County head-on collision

BEAR LAKE COUNTY, Idaho (KIFI) —A 22-year-old motorcyclist from North Ogden, Utah, lost his life Friday after colliding head-on with a Jeep in Bear Lake County.

According to the Idaho State Police (ISP), the crash took place around 11:20 a.m. on Friday, August 28. The young man was riding a white 2026 Kawasaki KLZX110 eastbound when he collided head-on with a westbound Jeep driven by a 66-year-old woman from Montpelier, Idaho.

The motorcyclist, who was not wearing his helmet, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Jeep was not wearing a seatbelt, but ISP states that she did not require medical transport to a hospital.

Emergency personnel closed Minnetonka Cave Road for approximately four hours to investigate and clear the wreckage. Multiple agencies responded to the incident, including ISP, the Bear Lake County Sheriff's Office, Bear Lake EMS, Bear Lake Fire, and Intermountain Life Flight.

The crash remains under investigation by the Idaho State Police.
