Pocatello Festival of Trees kicks off 10th annual fundraiser

POCATELLO, Idaho (KIFI/KIDK) - School District 25 is kicking off its 10th annual Festival of Trees on Tuesday night with the opening gala.

Held at the Stephens Performing Arts Center, the festival is the district's biggest fundraiser of the year. Proceeds go toward purchasing technology for classrooms.

In 2018, more than $100,000 in technology was given to 45 teachers in the district, which will impact more than 4000 students each year, according to the district's website.

“Most of those funds have been used to secure innovative technology for our teachers to enhance their learning in the classrooms, which therefore benefits our kids,” said Courtney Fisher, SD25 community relations specialist.

A silent auction will help bring in money for the fundraiser, which for the first time ever can be accessed online at primetimeauctions.com.

Also new this year, there will be a hand-bell choir musical celebration with performers from Utah's Bells of Joyful Sound and Pocatello's Old Town Actor's Studio. That performance will be Friday evening. Information about the events can be viewed here.

The festival is open to the public from Nov. 20 through Nov. 23. Tickets can be purchased at the door or online.
