NPR Journalist Speaks To People In Idaho Falls

National Public Radio foreign journalist, Rachel Martin, spoke to people in Idaho Falls at the Colonial Theater Wednesday night.

Martin is a native of Idaho Falls. She even graduated from Idaho Falls High School. She’s spent the last decade as a White House correspondent and reporting on the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Speaking to the Idaho Falls City Club, Martin seemed to appreciate the opportunity to come home, “These are people who were my teachers, my neighbors, family friends, friends I grew up with. So it really is a very warm homecoming. I just feel very pleased to be able to come home,” said Martin.

Martin was asked what stories she predicts she’ll be covering in the future, she said she suspects she’ll be covering terrorism — not just overseas, but home grown, too.
