Grace Plane Crash Victims Identified

Police in Grace have released the names of the three men who died in a plane crash on Monday afternoon.

Kacey Crane, 35, from Grace, pilot Norman Gunderson, 46, and his 16-year-old son, Isaac Gunderson, both of Menan all died in the crash, police said.

The crop dusters that routinely use the small were already back at work Tuesday morning, flying over the wreckage of the plane crash.

The Caribou County Sheriff said the men who died in last night’s crash were returning from working together on helping to build a church in Star Valley, and were on their way home, dropping Kacey Crane off at an airstrip outside Grace.

“They done a fly by over the airport. They went out south of town and made a big turn, and on the turn back they seemed to have lost power. I don’t know that; that’s being investigated by NTSB. and this is where they crashed,? Caribou County Sheriff Ric Anderson said.

With such a close community in the area Sheriff Ric Anderson said a tragedy like this one hits hard.

“Yeah, it hurts. It affects a lot of people in our community,? Anderson said.

The town has been through tough times before, and some folks said this will make the tight knit community even tighter.

“We’ve seen a lot of tragedy in this little town over the years, and it’s not easy to go through. It brings people together,? local Kathy Tillotson said.

Sheriff Anderson said this tragedy will be tough on the people of Grace, but his heart also goes out to the family of the others lost in the crash, in Jefferson County.

?There will be a lot of pain and hurt in that community, just like we have here,? Anderson said.

Investigators with the Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board will be in Grace investigating the crash site for the next few days.
